Salumificio Cavour

Our Salumificio was founded in 1975.  We’ve immediately moved towards an high quality cured meats production binding to our regional tradition (Piemontese tradition). This know how has been handed down for generations in rural families for which the annual pig’s breeding cycle was an important social-economic occurrence.

Over the years the Company has grown and the Salumificio Spaces have been expanded several times. The number of customers increased and the products are introduced in the main large-scale retail chains present in Italy (Carrefour, Auchan, Coop, Pam-Panorama, Dimar, Metro, etc.). In 1995 we moved to a new facility, technologically advanced and equipped with low environmental impact systems. The increased production capacity has allowed us to start looking abroad, which has always been an excellent showcase for popular Italian products. Currently, Cavour’s cured meats can be found in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Sweden.

The high quality standards fulfilment over the years, has always been fundamental for us; in 1997 we obtained the quality certification according to the ISO9001 standard, which later became 9002 and since 2014 our company is BRC and IFS standards (with grade A) suitable. In addition to being devoted to food safety, our butchers do their utmost to guarantee the quality of the ingredients used: meat from certified suppliers only, preference of natural flavors, GMO and ionizing radiation free.

Our delicatessen are gluten, milk (lactose and caseinates) polyphosphates and glutamate free. We produce a huge selection of delicatessen. From classic Piedmontese salami (tourist, bisboccia, stuzzichi, crespone), to specialties (salami al Barolo, salame della Rosa, salami with garlic), fresh and precooked cotechini, shanks, zamponi, sausages, hams and cooked salami… and so on. We like to think that the special ingredient of our products is represented by the territory; Cavour, our headquarter and, also the brand that appears on our cured meats, is a small village located in the Piedmont countryside. It is located at the entrance between Val Chisone, Val Pellice and Valle Po, in the middle of which rise up a "small mountain" 462 meters high and called the Rocca di Cavour, which has become a natural park.
