Caseificio Alta Valsesia

Established on January 12, 1956, thanks to the foresight of a small group of farmers and technicians, the agricultural cooperative society began its production in 1960 by collecting milk from farms in the upper Valsesia area.

The dairy or ‘dairy’ as it was originally called, has over the years consolidated its presence and production, reaching the current processing of about 20,000 quintals of milk per year with the production of more than 30 types of cheeses in addition to yogurt and ice cream. Currently, the cooperative collects milk from 35 farms, employing 14 employees, and its purpose, or ‘mission’ as it is now used, is to safeguard and maintain mountain farms that represent an important garrison for the territory, in the wake of the oldest agricultural traditions and productions. Labor, respect for the environment, sustainability and production ethics are our goals. All of the cooperative’s profits are reinvested in upgrading facilities, improving facilities and services, and creating new jobs.
