Santangiolina is a milk collection and processing cooperative founded in 1961 that now has about 230 members throughout Lombardy and eastern Piedmont. The historical headquarters is in San Colombano al Lambro, but the cooperative has grown over the past 15 years by acquiring three production plants: in Cereta di Volta Mantovana where 55,000 wheels of Grana Padano are produced; in Pandino, which has its strengths in cow and goat soft cheeses; and in Ballabio in Valsassina, a site specializing in cheese aging and quality butter production.
Santangiolina is a family of breeders, a cooperative of true producers, with a rich agricultural tradition linked to its home territory. A “family” that identifies with a passion for work well done, respect for the environment, and the ability to innovate while keeping the values of tradition intact. It is a happy development model, in which Santangiolina is dedicated to improving processing methods and techniques and supports each individual member, helping them maintain high milk quality. The tradition has a new history and is named Santangiolina.
